New Balance

Stepping forward with award-winning design

New Balance asked WD Partners to develop a highly flexible prototype to support the brand and make their store easier to shop. The new design highlights New Balance’s performance technologies, product offerings, rich history, and brand integrity. Customers can locate products more easily through the use of highly visible wayfinding graphics, organizing products by athletic activity, and cross-merchandising.

The new design concept utilizes materials and finishes with a lower environmental impact whenever possible, including low VOC paints; recycled plastic counters; and energy efficient lighting.

In addition, WD operations engineers studied how sales associates and customers used the space to improve the customer experience, as well as labor utilization.

The design received special recognition by the Association for Retail Environments for Green Awareness.
