VMSD is the definitive industry magazine for retail designers. It's the
People and TIME of our business. But their masthead (and whole corporate
image) needed a refresh.
We studied their brief and brought our particular spin to the project. Our spin was to visually demonstrate the art and science of retail design. The containing shape of our mark has an implied fold ‹ or is it a corner?
Architectural sensibility meets the art of visual merchandising in this mark with the letters breaking out of a defined shape ‹ much the way visual merchandising defies convention and definition.
We also fulfilled their wish for a new tagline. Now proudly displayed on the mag cover each month is our "Experience Retail Now." At once saying that retail is an experience ‹ it is the driving force in retail design ‹ and a call to action to take note of the gems inside VMSD each month.
